Here comes summer!
Looks like my blogging has been pretty far and few between!
Well, with warmer weather starting to occasionally appear, it's hard not to start thinking about summer! I've always loved summer, and I'm especially excited for what is on the horizon this coming summer. The past couple of summers we have played upwards of 7-8 weeks of camps. We will still be hitting some camps this year, but will be playing a few festivals along the way, which we haven't done much of in the past. In May, we will be playing Celebration Fest in Foley, AL. Then in June, we'll be at Ichthus Festival in Wilmore, KY. Finally, we'll head back to Big Ticket Festival in Gaylord, MI late in June. We are really excited to meet a lot of new people, reconnect with old friends, and play alongside a ton of great bands! If all goes according to plan, we will actually be getting back into the studio very soon as well. There is a lot I would love to tell you about the upcoming developments, but I should probably save that for another day when they are closer to unfolding! Aside from the band, God has really been speaking into my life and working in my heart in powerful ways. It is always incredible how He reveals things to you in His perfect timing. I would encourage everyone to just make a point of seeking Him. He knows exactly what you need, but you can't find Him if you don't seek Him. I hope everyone is doing great and that we will cross paths soon! Or shoot us an email. We would love to hear from you! Jeff Hurricane Ike
What's up everybody?
Just wanted to post a quick update from the road! We are currently out on the Rock Hop & Roll Tour with Heath McNease and The Fabulous. On Saturday night, we played near Branson, MO and were scheduled to play outside of Houston, TX on Sunday. We had heard about everything that was going on in Houston due to Hurricane Ike, including evacuations, flooding, power outages and damage. We wondered if the show would even be still on, let alone how everything would pan out as we traveled. Regardless, we drove through the night and through the storm to Bellville, TX where power was still on, and the people were ready to rock! Everyone there was amazing, and it was great to minister to the people there, especially knowing that we were so close to so much destruction. So, many thanks to the people of Bellville who hosted us! If you think of it, definitely remember to keep the people of Houston in your prayers. See ya! Jeff Rock Hop & Roll Tour
Hey everybody!
It's been a while since my last post, so I figured it was about time! We have been keeping really busy out on the Rock Hop & Roll Tour. So far, we have played 22 shows and have about 11 still ahead of us. The shows have been a ton of fun, and we are having a great time. We have met so many awesome people, and it is really cool to see what God is doing in different ministries throughout the country. Everywhere we go, the crowds have rocked and the hospitality has been great! When we're not on stage, we've managed to have some fun too. A couple of these moments would include going to Siesta Key beach in Florida, and also swimming in the Atlantic Ocean while we were in Delaware. Although... "swimming" in Delaware was really just jumping in and running back out, since the water was 48 degrees! We've had some not-so-great moments too, mostly due to some van troubles! We had to get a new distributor in Florida, which caused us to completely miss a show north of Atlanta! We were really sorry, but will definitely be back to make it up to them! Then, in Louisville, KY we had to get a new fuel pump. So needless to say, our pocket book has taken a bit of a hit because of the van, but it's all good. We are back on the road... the show must go on! Yesterday, we managed to find the time to release our brand new "California EP", so that was exciting too! If you haven't checked it out yet, be sure to visit the music page for MP3 downloads, or the online store to buy the actual CD. We can't help but feel God opening more and more doors for us, so we are absolutely thrilled as we look ahead to the coming days! Blessings, Jeff Goodbye 2007!
Wow! It's always hard to believe that another year has come to a close, and a new one is upon us! For me personally, my life has changed completely in so many ways during the year 2007!
First, the band "relaunched" back in February with a new name, new sound, and a commitment to excellence like never before. By June, we had all left our full time jobs to make a go at this band thing and had completed our first full-length album, "So Much for Today". For the first time, we hit the road as a full time band! We met so many incredible people on the road this summer. It was a complete affirmation of the leap of faith we had taken! As the life of the band had changed immensely, so did my own when I became a married man on September 22nd! Marriage has been such a blessing, and Molly and I are having such a blast sharing our lives together! In October, in between shows and more shows, we went back to the studio and cranked out four new songs. If you haven't heard them yet, be sure to give them a listen! To look back at the year, it has been an incredible journey. Looking ahead, 2008 is looking to be an even bigger year than 2007 for Attaboy! I wish I could give you more details, but just trust me that the momentum has no signs of stopping. For that, I can give nothing but thanks to God. He has blessed us far beyond anything I could have ever asked or imagined. My prayer for 2008 is that we might be faithful to the purpose He has called us to take on. Hopefully anyone reading has taken the chance to look back on your own year, and reflect on the ways God has had His hand on them. Please be safe this holiday season, and have a ridiculously Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! See ya in 2008, Jeff Whoops!
So, we're out on the Radio Static Tour right now with The Emberlight, Pilot for Kite and Juan Otero. We're having a ton of fun and meeting some awesome people. The bad news is that things don't always go as planned... A couple nights ago, we were in Minnesota playing a show. Our set was about to start, and at the last minute, I got the brilliant idea to do a jump kick off the adjacent wall on the downbeat of our first chord. What I failed to consider was that this wall might not be the most solid wall in the building. This soon proved to be true when instead of landing back on the stage, I found my leg stuck IN the wall and the rest of my body flying towards the floor! The good news is that my body survived any serious injury, and my guitar only got a small scratch. The bad news is that the wall didn't turn out quite so good. Check out the picture below to see for yourself!
Life is crazy and awesome!
Hey everybody,
I just wanted to write a quick little personal update, because I'm incredibly excited about what's just over the horizon. First of all, as you hopefully know, the band is headed out on the Radio Static Tour, which will start this Saturday (9/15). We're really pumped to hit the road with some great bands (The Emberlight and Pilot for Kite) and play in many new places! If you get a chance, check the tour schedule and see if we'll be near you. It would be awesome to see your face out on the road! But even better than that... on Saturday September 22nd, I am GETTING MARRIED! I couldn't be more excited to share the rest of my life with my very best friend on earth, Molly. Without her support, I wouldn't dream of being a full-time musician. The same is true of all of the guys' wives, so a huge thanks to them as well! Anyways, Molly and I will take a little time away for a honeymoon, and then join up for the rest of the RST. So be sure to introduce yourself to Molly out on tour! So, obviously, things are coming at me at a crazy pace! This is why I can completely feel your support and prayers. Without you guys, we'd be nothing! I hope everyone is taking care of themselves. The last blog from this single guy, Jeff Camps
What's up guys?
As most of you know, we've been keeping really busy playing at a lot of camps this summer. We are currently in the midst of our 5th of 7 weeks of camp. Each week has been amazing in it's own way. First and foremost, it has been great to meet so many awesome people and see how God is working in the lives of others all over. Beyond that, camps are just a flat-out blast. Where else can you play basketball, go tubing, blob kids, play paintball, ride horses, rock out and worship, eat camp food , throw water balloons, ride waterslides, and just go crazy, all in a given day? If you're having a hard time imagining all this fun, stay tuned. We're working on a little footage for you to see the action for yourself!Keep us in your prayers as we finish out the last couple weeks. Energy is always needed! Hope you guys are doing great! "So Much For Today" and Music Video
Hey everybody!
Sorry for the LONG delay in getting another blog entry posted! It has certainly been a busy couple months as we have spent multiple days at Pendlwood Studios recording the last few songs for our album. I am happy to say that we are completely done recording!! The songs are being mixed and mastered as we speak, getting the final touches for what you will hear on the album. Don’t forget – July 10th is when you’ll be able to hear it all for yourself! The album, entitled “So Much For Today,” will be available on iTunes, through our website and Myspace, and of course in concert for you to purchase. In other news, in between multiple studio sessions, we found time to shoot our first music video for the song “Permanent Ink!” We partnered with some students from Huntington University to film this song. It was a great learning experience for all of us, and we had a lot of fun filming! Check out the brand new “Video” page on our website to see it for yourself, or view it at www.myspace.com/attaboyonline. Big thanks to Lindsay Stalf, Adam Widener and Dan Fleming for their great work. We wish them the best of luck beyond college with whatever they pursue! If you haven’t checked our tour schedule, do it now! We will be all over the place this summer, and we would love to see you out on the road somewhere! I pray that things are going great for all of you. Live fully! Jeff In the Studio
Here it is... A glimpse into the studio and a little preview of one of the songs on our upcoming album! We had a great time, as always, recording this past week at Pendlwood Studio with Fidelity Entertainment Group. The song we did is a bit different for us, but we really enjoyed trying something new. This song is definitely more of a serious one, and deals with hurting, rejection, and the hope that we have to face these struggles.
By the way... I must admit that I lost some of the studio footage! I was pretty bummed about that, but managed to salvage some of it. So you'll have to use your imagination on the guitar and drum footage! Hopefully the still images will suffice... Take care guys!! Jeff Video Blogging
Don't get me wrong, reading blogs can be fun. But how much more fun is it to watch videos? That's why I'm going to attempt to put together some occasional video blogs! If you're bored and want to watch some random moments spent with the band, this is the place for you! We're headed back to the studio next week, so hopefully I can get some sweet footage to give you guys a little sneak peak at one of our new songs.
